Planning & Zoning Division

The Planning Division is responsible for coordinating the review and approval of development proposals and implementing the City's Comprehensive Plan while working with the Planning Commission.

The Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance are the principal tools used to regulate land uses and development standards. Their primary purpose is to ensure public health, safety, and the general welfare in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan.

Zoning administration includes preparing, updating, and enforcing zoning, subdivision, sign, floodplain, and other City ordinances related to planning.

Planning Applications

To apply for a planning application, please fill out the application form (PDF).  The planning application includes requests for the following: 

Comprehensive Plan Amendment Waiver of Platting / Lot Split 
Conditional Use Permit (CUP)Zoning Text Amendment
Preliminary and Final Planned Unit Development (PUD) Plan Vacation - Easement or Right-of-Way
