Resident Survey

Overview

Since 2007, Champlin has conducted a phone survey of approximately 400 randomly selected residents every five years to get a perspective regarding how the community feels about the municipal services provided by the city. The invaluable feedback received from the residents serves as the framework for the community’s Strategic and Financial Management planning process, and guides City leadership in the annual establishment of the General Fund Operating Budget.

Summary

Champlin residents are more satisfied with their community than five years ago. According to the Morris Leatherman survey group, the extremely positive reviews provided by residents rank among the highest-level positive feedback received in suburban communities in the Metropolitan area. Ratings of city services are extraordinarily high. The city enterprise is viewed strongly. City Council and staff ratings are among the top in the area. Residents rate their quality of life highly. The city does an exceptional job in communicating with residents. The city has one of the highest reservoirs of goodwill in the Metropolitan Area; the reservoir of goodwill is evolving into a “glue” tightly linking city decision-makers with residents into a consensus direction for the community.
