  • During a Special City Council Meeting on November 17, five candidates were interviewed to fill the Ward 3 Councilmember vacancy. After deliberation, the City Council appointed Tim Huttner to serve as Ward 3 Councilmember, effective December 8. This appointment will continue until May 12, 2026, when a special election will be held to fill the remaining term through December 31, 2028. For full details, view the official resolution (PDF).
  • Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a City Council Worksession is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Mississippi Crossings Event Center for the purpose of discussing the Strategic Plan.   Some Council Members may participate remotely via interactive technology.
  • Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Joint Worksession for the Planning and Park and Recreation Commissions is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Champlin City Hall for the purpose of discussing the Greater Mississippi Crossings small area plan and the city-wide parks study with our consultant, LHB. Some Commission Members may participate remotely via interactive technology.

Web Notice Qualifications per Minnesota Statute 331A.03

On October 22, 2018, the Champlin City Council authorized the use of its website as an alternative means of dissemination of solicitation of bids, requests for information and requests for proposals as permitted by Minnesota Statute 331A.03. Notice of this change was published in the Champlin Dayton Press on November 1, 2018 and the law required a six-month transition period, ending May 1, 2019, when notices were required to be published in the official newspaper while also posted online.
