2023 IS UPON US!Our vision is safe and thriving communities! Our mission is to provide stability and security for all! With that in mind, the City Council has been hard at work on the 2023 proposed budget. Six work sessions in and PUBLIC SAFETY remains at the forefront of next year’s priorities, aligning with our community vision and mission. As part of a historically bold initiative to preserve the safety of our community, the City Council has unanimously decided to add three officers to support an ongoing commitment to STAY TOUGH ON CRIME. The addition will bolster city-wide coverage by increasing the minimum on-duty patrol from two to three per shift. Nearly 1/3 of the new initiatives impacting the 2023 Property Tax Levy are dedicated to public safety and half of the general operating levy increase will be used to address ongoing staffing and supportive service needs in our police department.
