109th Avenue Project Update – October 29, 2025

East Side of Highway 169 Road Closure: 

West Side of Highway 169 (Jefferson Highway intersection): 

Progress continues on the west side of Highway 169, including the construction of the new roundabout at Jefferson Highway. Significant progress has been made in recent weeks:

• Concrete work is largely complete, including the roundabout pavement, curbs, medians, and sidewalks.
• Bituminous paving is underway. The first two layers of asphalt have been placed on 109th Avenue and the approach lanes to the roundabout. The third layer will be placed after restoration.
• Restoration efforts are underway. Crews are backfilling with topsoil and restoring areas behind the curbs, medians, and roundabout. This includes installing irrigation systems, planting trees, placing boulders, and preparing topsoil for landscaping.
• Once restoration is finished, the final layer of bituminous pavement will be applied. This is scheduled but remains weather-dependent over the next 10–14 days.
• Remaining tasks include lighting installation, pavement markings, and permanent signage.

We understand the inconvenience caused by the ongoing road closure and appreciate your continued patience. Our contractors are working diligently to complete the project safely and efficiently.
