109th Avenue Reconstruction Project Update – July 24, 2025Construction along 109th Avenue has been steadily progressing over the past several weeks. East Side of Highway 169 (between Zealand and Winnetka Avenues):
The contractor has completed major utility work, installed curbs, and laid the first layer of pavement. Remaining work includes installing sidewalks and trails, irrigation systems, street lighting, traffic signals at Xylon Lane and Winnetka Avenue, and final layer or pavement. Final restoration work is also planned. We anticipate this portion of the project to be completed by the end of August. West Side of Highway 169 (near the Jefferson Highway intersection):
Utility companies such as Xcel and Comcast are continuing to relocate their infrastructure to make way for the new roadway. Much of the new road base—sand and gravel—has been placed, and installation of public utilities like storm sewers and water mains is ongoing. The contractor anticipates approximately 2.5 months of work remaining on this side.
