109th Avenue Reconstruction Project Update – May 15, 2025
Construction on 109th Avenue has continued to progress over the past few weeks. To date, work has focused on the east side of Highway 169, from Zealand Avenue to Winnetka Avenue. The contractor, North Pine, has completed the removal of existing pavement, trails, and underground utilities in this area. Significant progress has also been made in relocating private utilities, including gas, electric, and telecommunications lines, to accommodate the new, wider roadway. Beginning mid-next week (around May 21, 2025), North Pine will begin installing public utilities, including the new watermain and storm sewer systems.
Important Notice
Starting Tuesday, May 27, 2025, construction will shift to the west side of Highway 169. As a result, 109th Avenue will be fully closed west of 169, including the intersection at Jefferson Highway. This closure is expected to remain in place through October 2025. Please plan ahead and follow posted detour routes. View Detour Map (PDF).
