Boat Launch Parking

In response to ongoing resident concerns around inability to access the river by boat during the MC Summer Series, this is a friendly reminder that you will be ticketed if you park a single vehicle in a vehicle-trailer spot at lower Mississippi Point Park.

While the Champlin Police Department isn’t thrilled to write parking tickets, it’s their duty to take enforcement action which is why they issued 20 citations at last night’s performance so if you’re heading to Mississippi Crossings tonight, be sure to park in the lot off 307 E River Pkwy, or the overflow lot off 317 Dean Ave and 405 Dowlin St (by EMC Services and Elm Creek Animal Hospital). From the overflow lot, use the pedestrian tunnel that goes under Highway 169 to access MC. View a parking map.

Please note, there are spaces in the boat launch area marked for single or non-combination vehicles, but the long spaces at lower Mississippi Point Park are reserved for vehicles with trailers, all others will be ticketed. Thank you for doing your part to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the Mississippi Crossings Summer Series to include those trying to put in a boat.

In addition, the City is aware of a need for more parking and therefore in the process of building an additional 120 slot parking lot at D.C. Chandler Park, adjacent to the Crossings. Details on this project will be released in the Fall Champlin Chronicle, watch for it in your mailbox this September.
