Executive Director of QCTV

The City of Champlin is a member of the Quad Cities Cable Television Commission. The Quad Cities Cable Television Commission, serving the Cities of Andover, Anoka, Champlin and Ramsey, Minnesota, is seeking a forward-looking, visionary leader to serve as its Executive Director and manage Quad Cities Community TV (QCTV) programming for over 19,000 households served by the cable TV system owned and operated by Comcast.  QCTV offices are located in Champlin.  Key duties include overseeing the planning and production of programming for 3 public access channels; working with the 8-member board of directors to develop and implement a strategic plan; identifying and establishing partnerships with the cities, the school district and other community institutions and organizations; preparing and administering a $2 million budget; supervising a staff of 6 full-time and 40 part-time employees; promoting community television; and assisting the Commission with franchise activities.  Candidates must have experience and education equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in communication, business or public administration, video production or a related field and 3 years of management and/or supervisory experience in public access television, community media, public administration or a related area.  Successful candidates will have strong business acumen and demonstrate initiative to expand community programming and increase utilization of QCTV facilities and equipment.  Candidates must be effective communicators and possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with the Commission, staff, volunteers and the general public and to interact with people from a broad range of backgrounds.  Knowledge of field and studio video production is a plus.  Salary: $65,000-$75,000 commensurate with experience.  Competitive benefits include health and participation in Public Employees Retirement Association.
